My writing on literature, visual art, theatre, film, and music has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times Book Review, Vogue, The Irish Times, Artforum, The Times Literary Supplement, and Kinfolk, among other publications. I also write regularly on architecture for the Harvard Graduate School of Design, and have contributed material to The Kinfolk Entrepreneur (Artisan 2017) and The Touch: Spaces Designed for the Senses (gestalten 2019).

At the Brooklyn Public Library, I co-curate LitFilm, an annual film festival on writers, and manage the BPL Literary Prize.

As a freelance editor and fact checker, I have worked with Harper's Magazine, Archipelago Books, PEN America, and other organizations.

A graduate of Columbia University, I have been a member of the editorial staffs of The New York Review of Books, The Paris Review, and The Criterion Collection. Since 2016, I have been a member of Words Without Borders’ Young Publishers Committee.
